K A Abbas: Khayalaat ka Saudagar
June 28, 2020 (Sun)
6 - 8 PM (IST)
June is the birth month of K A Abbas. On this occasion,
the Khwaja Ahmed Abbas Memorial Trust presents a few memories,
stories and anecdotes from his expansive life and career.
Working within and outside his archives present at the
Saiyidain Manzil, we present here fragments of his writings,
cinematic works and reminiscences of his life and friends.
It also includes the cultural events organised by the Trust
to keep engaging with his legacy and thoughts.
The end of one era is also and always - the beginning of another.
The struggle for freedom has ended. But freedom has just begun.
The preservation of the newly-won freedom against attacks from within
and from without, the enlargement of its scope in terms of social justice
and economic betterment of the masses, the need for a cultural
renaissance a all these impose fresh responsibilities on all of us.
The tasks of reconstruction are as important and as difficult as the
struggle to wrest power from unwilling imperialist hands.
